Based in Sydney, owned and run by Australia-guru Charles Carlow, Wilderness Australia offers something entirely different to the average Sydney based ground handler with the concept behind it being to take people away from the beaten track and off into the bush. The company has spent a great deal of time and effort in identifying the most exceptional lodges scattered around Australia, which are very comfortable and where even the most demanding traveller would be happy. It is basically offering the discerning (and often spoilt!) traveller a taste of something totally unique whilst travelling in great style and comfort. Wilderness Australia can provide the full ground handling service and the company has access to some of the most revered naturalists, guides and pilots in each state. Chauffeur driven cars are laid on whenever necessary with self-drive being arranged at other times. Private planes are organized to take clients on the longer distances and private, expert guides are arranged at each place, despite somewhere being well off the tourist path.
Wilderness Australia specializes in tailormade safaris throughout Australia's diverse environment and a strong eco and environmental awareness is key to the company's thought processes when planning itineraries. It aims to create awareness of the country's vast wealth of wildlife, flora, fauna and different topographical areas, all the while being looked after in a style you would expect from a leading travel company. The company is also more than happy to arrange visits to the more standard 'beach' resorts on the Queensland coast or to the popular mountain and wine areas, close to Sydney. The majority of Wilderness Australia's property portfolio comprises small, privately owned outback properties, bush camps, cattle / sheep stations and lodges. Each tends to be the private home of the residing family and has been carefully chosen for its wilderness location, its charming, hands on hosts, its general high standards of hygiene and basic comforts, and
for the unique insight that each offers into Australia's natural environment. Your days
will be spent with your hosts who will show you around their property and the workings of it or you may spend time out and about seeing Australia's incredible scenery and wildlife. In the evenings, enjoy lively conversations, gourmet cuisine or barbeques and Champagne under the stars, chatting to some of the most affable hosts around. You may choose to go as 'off the beaten track' as you possibly can but still the accommodation will be of a high standard.
