SAMODE BAGH

Samode Bagh, Jaipur

A unique and immensely peaceful camp, situated in incomparably beautiful Mughal gardens close to Samode Palace. Samode Bagh comprises a collection of extremely comfortable tent- effect rooms lined around the gardens. They are fixed structures with proper bathrooms and are beautifully decorated in block-printed fabrics of earthy colours and local designs. The 'tents' are fairly large and although close to each other, they are well insulated and private as they are walled on all sides but with a tented effect inside and a tented roof. The open sided dining tent serves delicious local and international cuisine and the smiling staff are always around to bring you a refreshing lime soda or a strong cup of real coffee. The expansive gardens are replete with pavilions and fountains, lawns and flowerbeds, criss-crossing pathways and shady places to sit and read or to listen to the birds, undisturbed. The beautiful swimming pool is in the pavilion, which is also home to an airy, pillared sitting area and a terrace bursting with plants. After returning from a hectic day's sightseeing in nearby Jaipur, the massage and steam area provides the perfect place to unwind and relax. An incredibly green and peaceful place - possibly the only Mughal garden where you may actually stay.

ACCESS: is by road from Jaipur, Delhi, Agra, Ajmer, Ranthambore and Shekavati. Or by air to Jaipur from Delhi, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bombay and Calcutta, followed by a 1 hour road journey. Alternatively by train to Jaipur from Delhi, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Ajmer, Sawai Madhopur and Bombay, followed by a 1 hour road journey.
