Neeleshwar Hermitage is a dreamy beach and spa hotel in North Kerala.
One of a kind and undoubtedly one of the best beach hotels in Kerala, this delightful place is set in a palm grove, just back from an unspoiled and safe beach. It has an immensely calm and peaceful atmosphere and has been constructed according to the architectural principles of Kerala Vastu. The traditional, thatched cottages house 16 rooms and are large, airy and wonderfully inviting, comfortable and spacious. Each has its own verandah and most look straight out to sea. They have been beautifully designed and decorated with polished wood pillars, gleaming teak floors and stone, partially open-air bathrooms with state of the art fixtures and fittings. Deep mattresses and fine linen ensure a good night’s sleep after spending time in the spa and Ayurvedic centre.
Along with yoga, backwater cruises, long walks down the pristine beach, visits to local temples, forts and villages, a stay here also allows you to gain an insight into local culture by way of fascinating evening lectures and cookery classes. ACCESS: is by road from Mangalore, Sultan Battery, Tellicherry, Coorg, Nagarhole and Mysore. Alternatively by train to Nileshwar from Mangalore, Cochin, Calicut, Tellicherry, Cannanore, Trichur followed by a 10 minute road journey. Or by air to Mangalore followed by a 2 – 3 hour road journey.
