Nepal

One of the most compellingly beautiful and diverse mountain countries in the world

Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge, Bardia National Park

Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge is a wonderful, authentic, eco-friendly lodge located in the heart of Bardia National Park. The lodge offers a perfect blend of modern amenities and traditional Nepalese architecture, providing a memorable stay. It really is the only place to stay in this area and has the most magical, secluded setting right by the park.

The public areas of the lodge are spacious and elegantly designed, with a rustic and natural feel. The main lodge area features a large dining room where excellent Nepali dinners are served, a sitting area and well stocked bar, with comfortable seating and a central firepit - perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the park. The lodge also has a beautiful outdoor garden and al fresco dining area, where you feast on delicious western breakfasts and lunches, whilst listening to the sounds of the jungle around you. The bedrooms are lofty and comfortable, with large windows offering views of the surrounding forest and river. The rooms are rustic, comfortable and tastefully decorated with traditional Nepalese furnishings and excellent en-suite bathrooms. Each room has a private balcony – the perfect place to relax, read, doze and listen to the music of the jungle around you.

The style of Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge is a perfect blend of traditional Nepalese architecture and modern luxury. The lodge is built using locally sourced materials and incorporates traditional design elements such as timber framing, thatched roofs, and adobe walls. All produce is locally grown or sourced and they have a zero plastic policy in keeping with their hugely sustainable approach to hospitality. The interior decor features natural materials such as wood, stone, and bamboo, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings.

Bardia National Park is one of the largest (approx. 1000 sq km) and most pristine parks in Nepal – it remains relative unexplored and is one of the last great wildernesses. The park is home to a rich and diverse range of wildlife, including the Royal Bengal Tiger, elephants, the Greater One Horned Rhino, leopard, swamp and spotted dear, and over 400 different species of birds. Whilst here enjoy jeep and boat Safaris (when water levels permit) lead by hugely knowledgeable guides, inspirational village walks where you naturally interact with the local communities, bird walks, or simply spend time in the property’s lovely, peaceful Machan (watchtower) observing jungle life on the ground below you and in the treetops around you.

Tiger Tops Karnali Lodge is a perfect destination for nature lovers and those seeking a luxurious yet eco-friendly escape and a taste of Nepal's natural beauty and cultural heritage.
