Nepal

One of the most compellingly beautiful and diverse mountain countries in the world

Mountain Lodges of Nepal,
Annapurna and Everest regions

The Mountain Lodges of Nepal are an inspired concept and offer travellers a wonderful way to trek in comfort. The lodges are located in the foothills at the gateways to 2 of the world’s great mountain regions - in the Annapurna (6) and Everest (7) wilderness regions of Nepal – and they provide a comfortable and welcoming base from which to explore the surrounding mountains and valleys.

One of the defining features of the Mountain Lodges of Nepal is their traditional style and architecture. The lodges are constructed using local materials such as stone, wood, and slate, and are designed to blend seamlessly into the natural environment. The buildings are typically two or three stories high, with steeply pitched roofs and overhanging eaves to protect against the heavy snowfall that is common in the region. Many of the lodges feature intricate carvings and decorative details, which reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Nepalese people.

The Mountain Lodges of Nepal are strategically located along popular trekking routes in the Annapurna and Everest regions so that one may walk from lodge to lodge daily or spend longer at one or two if wanting a slower paced walk. The lodges in the Annapurna region are situated in the foothills of the Himalayas, offering stunning views of the snow-capped peaks and lush valleys below. The lodges in the Everest region are located at higher elevations, providing access to some of the most iconic trekking routes in the world, including the Everest Base Camp trek.

Despite their remote location, the lodges offer a high level of comfort and style for guests. Our lodges have 10 to 20 rooms which can accommodate 2 people and have excellent en-suite bathroom with piping hot showers, comfortable beds, and electric blankets to keep guests warm on chilly nights. Everything is provided so there is no need to carry bedding with you. The rooms are spacious and decorated with handcrafted furnishings and textiles, including colourful bedspreads and curtains. They also have large windows that provide stunning views of the surrounding forests and mountains.

The lodges also feature communal areas for guests to relax, including spacious dining rooms with plenty of heating, cosy sitting rooms, fully stocked bars, and outdoor terraces and flower-filled gardens with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The interiors are designed to reflect the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region and are decorated with traditional Nepalese textiles, artwork, and handicrafts, which add a sense of warmth and authenticity to the spaces. Many of the lodges also feature local materials such as slate and wood in their flooring and walls, creating a rustic yet elegant atmosphere. Dining here is a treat with wonderful, hearty, western or local style breakfasts to send you on your way. Guests tend to gather together for drinks and dinner, feasting on delicious local Nepali fare.

One of the unique features of the Mountain Lodges of Nepal is their focus on sustainability and responsible tourism. The lodges are designed to have a minimal impact on the environment, and employ local staff and support local communities. Many of the lodges also offer educational programs and cultural experiences, allowing guests to learn about the local customs and traditions of the Nepalese people. The lodges each have a manager and full team of smiling staff who will help you integrate into and understand Nepalese culture and tradition.

The Mountain Lodges of Nepal are a delight and offer a unique and unforgettable experience for travelers seeking adventure and luxury in the heart of the Himalayas. With their traditional style and architecture, stunning locations, and comfortable interiors, the lodges provide a perfect base from which to explore the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Nepal, whether trekking through the Annapurna or Everest regions. The walks can be tailored to suit you and can be as long or as short as you want – that is the beauty of this unique product.
